What is Aromatherapy massage?Aromatherapy massage is a part of Aromatherapy, where essential oils are also used in baths, vaporisers, inhalation equipment, diffused via rattan reeds and so on. As far as aromatherapy massage is concerned the oils are blended, in a carrier oil, according to the presenting challenges and massage techniques are used combined with the essential oils. The essential oils are highly concentrated substances extracted from various parts of certain trees and plants. A single oil can help a wide variety of disorders due to the large number of components they contain. This said, many conditions respond very well to a therapeutic blend of oils. What happens during a session?I would do an initial consultation with you, ascertaining any problem areas you may be experiencing, and also checking for any conditions where certain essential oils are contra-indicated. I'll blend oils which would be helpful to you, at that time. During the practical session I massage you with the blended oils. During a typical 50 minute full body massage, I work on your legs, back, arms, and neck, being aware of any areas which need more attention than others. During the 75 minutes session, I would typically also work on your face and scalp. I work with a variety of massage strokes, tailoring them to you as an individual. What can be helped?Aromatherapy massage has a beneficial effect on the systems of the body (the circulatory, respiratory, reproductive, lymphatic, muscular, nervous and digestive systems). Many people have reported that aromatherapy has been beneficial to them for a variety of challenges, such as insomnia, stress, digestive disorders, headaches, pmt, other menstrual problems, anxiety, muscular aches and pains, and skin conditions .... to name just a few presenting problems. What are the costs and session times? £30.00 per 50 minute session. £40.00 per 75 minute session. The first session usually lasts about an additional 20 minutes as I gather information from you. There is no additional charge for the extra time taken on the first session. How many sessions would benefit me? This will depend upon what is happening to you at the time. Many people find they benefit from a course of 6 sessions, whilst others find that 3 sessions are enough for them. Others like to make it part of their lifestyle, and incorporate it as a part of their preventative and wellbeing maintenance programme. Our practice is based on the south coast of England, in Bournemouth, Dorset. |
