Reiki has grown rapidly to become one of the most popular healing arts in the world today. The history of Reiki has become a part of legend and today millions know the story of how the theologian Dr Usui sought to re-discover the principles behind healing, as evidenced in sacred truths.

After decades of research it is said that he discovered some ancient texts in a monastery which explained the healing process - but they didn't explain the 'activating method' by which healing was made possible.

So, to further his quest, Dr Usui entered into the time-honored tradition of meditation, prayer and fasting in order to draw near to the Ultimate Source of Goodness. As a result, at the end of a sustained three-week period, just before Dawn, in a spectacular way, Dr. Usui is said to have mystically received knowledge of some sacred symbols through which Reiki healing could occur.

A number of healing miracles are reported to have followed this spiritual experience by which validation was provided to Dr Usui for the efficacy of Reiki.

A Reiki treatment can be very relaxing.  As you lay down and take it easy the Reiki Practitioner will gently place his or her hands near you, or upon you and seek to act as a conduit for the healing energy that we believe can be shared in this way.  Each session lasts about an hour.
